The Beresford Watchdogs hosted the Sioux Valley Cossacks in a volleyball match on Saturday, October 1st. The Cossacks won the match in straight sets.
The first set was a close battle with the largest lead being six points by the Cossacks at 11-5. The Watchdogs went on a 9-2 run for a 14-13 lead. The two teams battled back-and-forth and were tied multiple times. After a 21-21 tie, Sioux Valley outscored Beresford 4-2 for a 25-23 win. That close set win sparked some momentum for Sioux Valley. The Cossacks won the next two sets by scores of 25-11 and 25-17.
Maddie Erickson and Megan DeLay both had seven kills each. Eva Scaap had three. Larissa Tiedeman finished with 15 set assists and nine digs. Rachel Zanter had a team-high 16 digs. Autumn Namminga also had nine digs, and Mckayla Roelke had six.
