The Beresford Watchdogs took to the road on Friday, September 9th and traveled to Winner. The Warriors got a shutout win, 22-0, against the Watchdogs.
The two defenses shined in the first quarter. The Watchdog defense held strong on a goalline stand late in the quarter, and the first quarter ended with neither team scoring. Winner broke through with a one-yard quarterback sneak for a touchdown with 8:41 to play in the second quarter. The two-point conversion was good for an 8-0 lead. Winner continued to lead 8-0 at halftime.
The Warriors broke through with a big play early in the third quarter. Winner scored on a 59-yard run with 9:24 to play. The two-point conversion was no good, and the Warriors led 14-0. The big blow came with :36 left in the quarter. Winner scored again on a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good again, and the Warriors led 22-0. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter.
Beresford (2-1) will host Flandreau on Friday, September 16th for Homecoming.
