The Beresford Watchdogs opened the 2022 season on the road at Canton on Tuesday, August 23rd. The C-Hawks took the match in straight sets by scores of 25-22, 25-17, and 25-19.
The start of the match went back-and-forth in the opening set. The two teams were locked in a 8-8 tie. Beresford then scored five in a row for a 13-8 advantage. The Watchdogs continued to lead 19-15 late in the set, but Canton came storming back and won 25-22.
The second set started the about the same as the first. Canton held a slim 8-7 lead before going on an 8-3 run for a 16-10 lead. The C-Hawks cruised from there to take the win 25-17. The score was close once again early in the third set. Canton led 9-7 and maintained a two-to-three point lead through the midway point of the set. Beresford pulled within a point at 16-15, but Canton outscored the Watchdogs 9-4 the rest of the set for the match win.
Beresford travels to Garretson to play the Blue Dragons on Thursday, Aug 25th.
