{"id":2399,"date":"2026-04-19T21:28:13","date_gmt":"2026-04-20T02:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/baltic\/?p=2399"},"modified":"2026-04-19T21:28:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-20T02:28:16","slug":"baltic-high-school-baseball-drops-two-on-back-to-back-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/baltic\/2026\/04\/19\/baltic-high-school-baseball-drops-two-on-back-to-back-days\/","title":{"rendered":"Baltic High School Baseball Drops Two on Back-to-Back Days"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-247\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/baltic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/BalticLogo-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/baltic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/BalticLogo-1.png 96w, https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/baltic\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/BalticLogo-1-80x80.png 80w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 96px) 100vw, 96px\" \/>The Baltic high school baseball team had two road games on back-to-back days.\u00a0 They traveled to Dell Rapids on Thursday, April 16th and then traveled to Vermillion on Friday, April 17th.\u00a0 Baltic fell short in both games.<\/p>\n<h5>Dell Rapids 15, Baltic 0<\/h5>\n<p>Dell Rapids had an 11-run third inning to help them to the 15-0 win in three innings.\u00a0 They scored two times in the bottom of the first.\u00a0 They added two more with two outs in the bottom of the second to extend the lead to 4-0.\u00a0 Dell Rapids scored four runs in the third before the first out was recorded.\u00a0 They got two more before the second out.\u00a0 They then scored five more runs to end the game.<\/p>\n<p>Cale Roach had the only hit in the game for Baltic.\u00a0 Elias Oakley pitched 2 2\/3 innings and allowed 13 runs, six earned, on six hits and seven walks with three strikeouts.\u00a0 Aaron Nordbye allowed two earned runs on a hit and three walks.<\/p>\n<h5>Vermillion 12, Baltic 2<\/h5>\n<p>Vermillion built an early 6-0 lead by scoring two in the bottom of the first and four more in the bottom of the second.\u00a0 Jackson Goehring had an RBI single in the top of the third.\u00a0 Zach Helgeson followed with an RBI single of his own to cut the lead to 6-2.\u00a0 Vermillion, however, responded with two runs in the bottom of the third and two more in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 10-2.\u00a0 They added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game on the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n<p>Roach had two singles in the game.\u00a0 Goehring and Helgeson each had a single and an RBI.\u00a0 Isaac Oakley and Nordbye both had one single each.\u00a0 I.
