{"id":815,"date":"2023-08-25T11:42:46","date_gmt":"2023-08-25T16:42:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/?p=815"},"modified":"2023-08-25T11:45:35","modified_gmt":"2023-08-25T16:45:35","slug":"alcester-hudson-wins-second-straight-home-match","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/2023\/08\/25\/alcester-hudson-wins-second-straight-home-match\/","title":{"rendered":"Alcester-Hudson Wins Second Straight Home Match"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-245\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1.png 96w, https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1-80x80.png 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 96px) 100vw, 96px\" \/>The Alcester-Hudson Cubs won their second straight match to start the season.\u00a0 After a change in scheduling due to heat, the Cubs hosted the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals on Thursday, August 24th and won in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 25-14.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinals opened the match with an early 4-1 advantage.\u00a0 The Cubs followed with a 9-2 run to go ahead 10-6.\u00a0 After St Mary got within two points, 11-9, Alcester-Hudson scored five in a row to extend the lead to 16-9.\u00a0 They continued to push the lead to 21-13 before taking the first set 25-18.\u00a0 The Cubs started the second set on a 4-1 run and looked like they were going to cruise to victory after going ahead 18-11.\u00a0 St Mary battled back to within three points, 22-19, but Alcester-Hudson did not let the set slip away and won 25-21.\u00a0 The Cubs started the third set with four straight points, but St Mary tied the game 6-6.\u00a0 Alcester-Hudson then went on an 11-2 run to lead 17-8.\u00a0 The lead grew to 21-9.\u00a0 This time the Cubs did not allow St Mary to get too close as they finished the match with a 25-14 win.<\/p>\n<p>Alexis Gray and Devin Hongslo each have five kills.\u00a0 Carly Patrick and Emma Moller both had four kills each.\u00a0 Elly Doering led the team with seven ace serves.\u00a0 Hannah Ahart finished with 17 set assists and five digs.\u00a0 Jenna Manning added 10 digs.\u00a0 Patrick added six digs, and Moller and Jaeley Christensen both had five digs each.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Alcester-Hudson Cubs won their second straight match to start the season.\u00a0 After a change in scheduling due to heat, the Cubs hosted the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals on Thursday, August 24th and won in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 25-14.
