{"id":1596,"date":"2025-04-19T11:38:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T16:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/?p=1596"},"modified":"2025-04-19T11:38:12","modified_gmt":"2025-04-19T16:38:12","slug":"cubs-softball-wins-two-more-winning-streak-at-five","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/2025\/04\/19\/cubs-softball-wins-two-more-winning-streak-at-five\/","title":{"rendered":"Cubs Softball Wins Two More, Winning Streak at Five"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-245\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1.png 96w, https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1-80x80.png 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 96px) 100vw, 96px\" \/>The Alcester-Hudson Cub softball team won two games on back-to-back days to increase their winning streak to five games.\u00a0 The Cubs defeated Bon Homme on Thursday, April 17th and then got a win over Beresford on Friday, April 18th.<\/p>\n<h5>Alcester-Hudson 13, Bon Homme 3<\/h5>\n<p>The Cubs scored 10 runs in the final two innings to take a 13-3 win over the Cavaliers.\u00a0 Alcester-Hudson scored a run in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead.\u00a0 Each team got a run in both the second and third innings.\u00a0 The Cubs led 3-2 going into the fourth.\u00a0 Alcester-Hudson added two runs in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 5-2.\u00a0 Bon Homme cut the lead to 5-3 with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Cubs exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.<\/p>\n<p>Emma Moller had three hits, one a home run, and four RBIs.\u00a0 Jaeley Christensen had three hits, two of them doubles, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Paxtyn Moller and Ava Kingma both had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.\u00a0 Emma Solberg finished with two singles.\u00a0 Delta Pies and Laney Decker each had a single and RBI, and Lexi Miller had an RBI.\u00a0 Moller threw five innings and allowed three earned runs on three hits and a walk with 10 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<h5>Alcester-Hudson 8, Beresford 5<\/h5>\n<p>The Cubs got four runs late in the game to take the 8-5 win in the second game.\u00a0 Each team scored twice in the firsts inning for a 2-2 tie.\u00a0 Alcester-Hudson got a single run in the third and another in the fourth for a 4-2 lead.\u00a0 Beresford tied the game, 4-4, with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.\u00a0 The Cubs, however, responded with three in the top of the sixth.\u00a0 The Watchdogs scored a run in the bottom of the sixth, but Alcester-Hudson scored another run in the top of the seventh.<\/p>\n<p>Decker had two hits, one a triple, and three RBIs.\u00a0 Christensen had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI.\u00a0 Pies and Emma Moller both had two singles and an RBI each.\u00a0 Manning added a triple and an RBI.\u00a0 Miller finished with a single and an RBI.\u00a0 P. Moller had a triple, and Solberg had a single.\u00a0 E.
