{"id":1334,"date":"2024-10-11T09:53:48","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T14:53:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/?p=1334"},"modified":"2024-10-11T09:53:50","modified_gmt":"2024-10-11T14:53:50","slug":"cubs-drop-five-set-match-to-watchdogs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/2024\/10\/11\/cubs-drop-five-set-match-to-watchdogs\/","title":{"rendered":"Cubs Drop Five-Set Match to Watchdogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-245\" src=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"96\" height=\"96\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1.png 96w, https:\/\/bigsiouxmedia.com\/alcester-hudson\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Alcester-HudsonCubs-1-80x80.png 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 96px) 100vw, 96px\" \/>The Alcester-Hudson Cub volleyball team dropped a touch match on the road against the Beresford Watchdogs on Thursday, October 10th.\u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial; font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif;\">The Watchdogs won by set scores of 16-25, 20-25, 25-10, 25-14, and 15-8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Alcester-Hudson built a lead in the opening set and held a seven point advantage at 22-15.\u00a0 The Cubs would finish the set with a 3-1 run to win 25-16.\u00a0 Beresford opened the second set with a 3-0 run.\u00a0 They extended that lead to 10-4 and still led by six at 16-10.\u00a0 The Cubs chipped away at the the lead and tied the score 19-19.\u00a0 They then went on a 4-0 run for a 23-19 lead before going ahead two sets to none with a 25-20 win.<\/p>\n<p>The Watchdogs regrouped and started the third set with a 9-2 run.\u00a0 They pushed the lead to 17-7 and then 21-10.\u00a0 Beresford would also score the final four points for a quick 25-10 win.\u00a0 The fourth set started with ties of 3-3 and 6-6.\u00a0 Beresford would take a 12-10 lead and then extend that lead to 16-11.\u00a0 The Watchdogs continued the run with four straight points for a 20-11 score.\u00a0 They would finish the set with a 25-14 win to force a fifth and final set.<\/p>\n<p>The Cubs took the first lead, 3-0, in the final set with three straight points.\u00a0 They would hold a slim 5-4 advantage, but Beresford would tie the score 7-7.\u00a0 The Watchdogs went on a 3-1 run to go in front 10-8.\u00a0 Beresford then scored the next five points in a row for a 15-8 victory.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Alcester-Hudson Cub volleyball team dropped a touch match on the road against the Beresford Watchdogs on Thursday, October 10th.\u00a0 The Watchdogs won by set scores of 16-25, 20-25, 25-10, 25-14, and 15-8.
