Alcester-Hudson Softball Breaks Game Open in Sixth for Win over Menno

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs softball team broke the game open in the fourth inning in a 17-6 win over the Menno Wolves on Friday, May 18th.

Menno scored the first run of the game in the top of the first.  Alcester-Hudson took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with two runs.  They added four more in the bottom of the third for a 6-1 lead.  The Wolves cut the lead to 6-3 with two runs in the top of the fourth.  The Cubs broke the game open with a six-run fourth to go ahead 12-3.  After Menno scored three in the top of the fifth, Alcester-Hudson had five more runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Elly Doering had four hits, including a home run, with three RBIs.  Delta Pies had four singles and three RBIs.  Sarah Ebert added three singles and four RBIs.  Paxtyn Moller and Jaeley Christensen each had two hits and an RBI.  Emma Moller had a home run and three RBIs, and Jenna Manning had a hit and an RBI.  E. Moller pitched five innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on six hits and two walks with 12 strikeouts.
