Cubs Softball Wins Final Regular Season Game

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs won their final regular season softball game over the Beresford Watchdogs on Saturday, May 18th.  The Cubs broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning on their way to a 6-2 victory.

Beresford scored first in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 lead.  Emma Moller had an RBI ground out in the bottom of the first to tie the game 1-1.  The score remained 1-1 until the bottom of the fourth.  Delta Pies broke the tie with an RBI ground out.  Alexis Gray had an RBI single, and Jenna Manning also had an RBI single for a 4-1 lead.  Two more runs scored in the bottom of the sixth.  Manning had an RBI double, and Paxtyn Moller added an RBI ground out.  Beresford got one run in the top of the sixth.

Manning had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs.  P. Moller, E. Moller, Pies, and Gray all had a single and an RBI.  Elly Doering had a single.  E. Moller pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs on nine hits and three walks with 15 strikeouts.
