Cubs Volleyball Wins Home Match over Tornadoes

The Alcester-Hudson Cub volleyball team notched another home win on Tuesday, September 12th.  The Cubs defeated the Centerville Tornadoes in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-14, and 25-21.

Alcester-Hudson started the first set on a 5-1 run and cruised throughout the set.  They built an 11-2 lead and maintained a nine-point lead to 17-8.  The closed out the set with a 25-12 win.  The second started with a big run by the Cubs of 11-1.  The Tornadoes cut the lead in half, 14-9, but the Cubs finished the second set with a 25-14 win.  

The third was a much closer batter.  Centerville started with a 4-1 run, but Alcester-Hudson tied the score 8-8.  The Cubs went on a 7-3 run to go ahead 15-11.  Centerville tied the score 15-15.  The two teams went back and forth and were tied 17-17 and 19-19.  The Cubs went on a 4-0 run for a 23-19 lead and finished the match with a 25-21 win.

Hannah Ahart finished with 24 set assists, nine digs, and six ace serves.  Alexis Gray had 10 kills and nine digs.  Clary Patrick tallied six kills, nine digs, and three ace serves.  Devin Hongslo added six kills.  Emma Moller had four kills and two ace serves.  Elly Doering finished. with three kills and six digs.  Jenna Manning had a team-high 15 digs, and Baylee Klaschen added eight digs.
