Alcester-Hudson Cubs Softball Headed to Title Game

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs softball team is one win away from bringing home the first ever South Dakota High School State B Championship.  The Cubs earned a spot in the title game after a 10-0 win in the semifinals over the Bon Homme Cavaliers on Friday, June 2nd.

Emma Moller pitched six innings allowing just two hits and two walks while striking out 13 batters.  The offense got rolling in the the third inning.  After two innings tied at 0-0, Alcester-Hudson scored five times in the bottom of the third.  They added four more in the bottom of the fourth and then ended the game on the 10-run rule with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Ella Serck had three hits, one a double, and three RBIs.  Moller also had three hits, including a double.  Jaeley Christensen had two singles and three RBIs.  Jenna Manning finished with two hits and two RBIs.  Delta Pies added two hits and an RBI.  Elly Doering had singles, and Sarah Ebert had a single and an RBI.

The Cubs will play Castlewood for the State B title on Saturday, June 3rd at 5:30 p.m.
