Rally Falls Short for Alcester-Hudson Girls Against Beresford

The Alcester-Hudson Cubs (5-12) tried to erase an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit, but their rally fell short on Saturday, February 4th.  The Beresford Watchdogs held the Cubs for a 58-53 win.

The Cubs ended the first quarter holding a 12-11 lead.  Beresford got rolling on offense and took the lead in the second quarter.  The Watchdogs led 31-24 at halftime.  They would add another point to their lead by the end of the third quarter, 41-33.  Alcester-Hudson outscored Beresford 20-17 in the final quarter, but the rally fell short.

Alcester-Hudson shot 35% (14-40) overall in the game, 38% (3-8) on three-point attempts and 69% (22-32) from the free-throw line.  The Cubs had 15 team steals in the game, however, they committed 26 turnovers in the game.

Elly Doering had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.  Alexis Gray had 14 points, four rebounds, and three steals.  Jenna Manning ended with six points.  Sara Ebert finished with five points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Emily Winquist had three points, four rebounds, and two steals.   Ella Serck added three points, two rebounds, and three steals.
