The Alcester-Hudson Cubs girls basketball team lost their first game of the season at Canton Tuesday, December 20th. Canton had a fast start and won 63-44.
The C-Hawks started the game on a 14-1 run and led 16-6 at the end of the first quarter. The Cubs made runs in the second and third quarters, getting the lead down to five or six points, but Canton was able to respond with a run of their own each time. Canton led 31-21 at halftime and 45-32 at the end of the third quarter.
Elly Doering had a double-double finishing with 29 points and 13 rebounds. Ella Serck had five points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Carly Patrick had three points. Alexis Gray, Sarah Ebert, and Emily Winquist all had two points each.
