The Dell Rapids Quarrier girls won their 10th game in a row after a 72-60 win over the Dakota Valley Panthers on Friday, February 10th, in Dell Rapids. Not only have the Quarriers won for the 10th time in a row, they have won 12 of their last 13 games and continue to hold the top spot in Region 3A.
Both offenses were rolling in the first quarter. Dell Rapids was able to get a 17-14 lead after the first quarter. The Quarriers pushed that lead to seven by halftime at 32-25. Both teams scored 19 points each in the third quarter, and Dell Rapids maintained their seven-point lead at 51-44 after the third quarter. The Quarriers were able to pull away down the stretch in the fourth quarter for the win.
Ten different players scored in the game for Dell Rapids. Jayda Knuppe finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. Arial Hoffman added 15 points and five rebounds. Emma Paul had nine points and 10 rebounds, while Kaylee Hennen had eight points.
Dell Rapids (14-4) will continue their home stand on Monday, February 13th, when they host the Canton C-Hawks as part of a girls and boys double-header. Monday will also be Senior Night, and the seniors for both the girls and boys will be recognized between the girls and boys games. Both games will be webcast on Big Sioux Media.
