Kenneth Arthur Currier, 80, of Brancroft passed away on September 5, 2014 at the De Smet Good Samaritan Center. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 7th at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8th at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet with burial at LeSeuer Cemetery. Osthus Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Kenneth was born on a farm near Bancroft, SD on March 16, 1934 to Val and Margie Currier. He spent his childhood growing up in the Bancroft community. On October 20, 1957 Kenneth was united in marriage to Pauline Dashner in El Paso, TX. He lived his entire life in the Bancroft area until he moved into the Good Samaritan Center.
During his life Kenneth had several careers. He was a farmer in the Bancroft area. Then he worked at Armours in Huron until it closed down. Then he worked on John Tisdel’s farm. Kenneth also was employed by Weerts Inc. until he retired.
Kenneth enjoyed the outdoors – especially fishing, hunting, and trapping.
Kenneth is survived by one son, Dale (Wendy) Currier of De Smet; two daughters, Gayle (Mark) Larson of Iroquois and Lori (Mike) Baye of Dell Rapids; one brother, Merlin (Joan) Currier of Huron; one sister, Donna Dirksen of Faulkton; one daughter-in-law, Marilee (Ron) Rounds of Cavour; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Val and Margie; his wife, Pauline; one son, Daniel; one grandson, Trent Rounds; and one brother-in-law, Delbert Dirksen.
