• RESTRICTED BUILDING ACCESS FOR PARENTS & VISITORS
  • Effective March 13, 2020 the following will be enacted:
    • Suspension of school facility access including but not limited to:
      • Entering buildings before and after school transitions
      • Lunch with students
      • Classroom volunteers
  • **If you have traveled outside the United States or are experiencing any symptoms of the Coronavirus, please contact the office at 428-5473 option 1 prior to entering.
• SENIORS:  Your Senior Composite is here! I have adorned the new composite in my office. There are copies of these for sale. Please let me know if you would like to purchase one of these.  Also, your cap and gowns are available to be picked up. Please call and make sure someone is in the office before you come to school.
• Last fall you received notice from us that to continue receiving Bright Arrow alerts, you needed to “opt in”.  If you haven’t done this, unfortunately, you will not receive our text message alerts.   To opt in simply text the word YES to 87569.  You should receive a reply saying you have signed up to receive messages from DRPS.
• The Dell Rapids Athletic Booster Club is providing $60 scholarship to put towards a summer camp of your choice to better your skills for participation in High School Athletics. Applications may be picked up in either the middle of high school office and must be returned to the high school office or mailed to the PO Box by May 31^st. No late application will be accepted. The Dell Rapids School Team camps and acceleration program are great programs to use theses scholarships on!
• SENIORS:  Please stop by the high school office to sign up and pay for graduation flowers for the graduation ceremony. Orders are due by April 1^st. Once the orders have been made and paid for, any changes will be your responsibility.
• Competitive Cheer Tryout Informational meeting: All of the dates in March and April are postponed until further notice. Feel free to contact Magen Richeal with any questions.  Thanks!!
• South Dakota Air National Guard is hosting a Career Day on Wednesday, April 22nd.  This event is for students interested in learning about the educational, career, travel and financial benefits of the South Dakota Air National Guard.  In addition to learning about these opportunities students attending the Career Day will get a base tour, see F-16 fighter jets, and a free lunch. Registration is required – see Mrs. Ruesink if you are interested.

    • Goals of Girls State:
      • The main purpose of American Legion Auxiliary Girls State of South Dakota is to help girls understand and appreciate the American form of Government, which includes learning about their rights, privilege​s and responsibilities of citizenship.  Girls will learn through actual participation of how Government functions on the city, county and state levels. During the week girls will also hear many outstanding people speak concerning their elective or appointive offices in State.  Various scholarships are available for students attending this program.
• Due to the postponement of the 2020 State “A” Boys Basketball Tournament, t-shirts have not yet been ordered. Once the SDHSAA makes a final decision, updated information will be forthcoming.   • Summer Bike Camp Volunteers Needed!
    • Can you volunteer 75 minutes of your time daily for one week? We are looking for volunteers to help with a program called “I Can Bike” from June 8-12. This program teaches people with disabilities how to ride a 2-wheel bike. If you are 15 years or older and would like to help, please stop by the high school office for more information.
  • Dells Nursing and Rehab is looking for CNA help from 2-10pm; 4-8pm and 4 – midnight shifts. Starting wage is $12.50 per hour and you go to $13 per hour once training is complete. Dells Nursing and Rehab is willing to do all the training on-site. If you are interested, please call Lynne at 428-5478.
  • Heinemann Restoration, Inc. is now hiring for general laborer positions. Our company provides masonry restoration, caulking and general labor and clean up jobs on all job sites. Entry level positions available at $16.00 per hour. Most work this summer is in the Sioux Falls surrounding areas. Previous experience desirable, but not necessary.
