  • The South Dakota Air National Guard is hosting a Career Day on October 29th from 9:00 AM- 2:00 PM for students and parents.  This will include a base tour, jet take-off, lunch, and informational sessions to learn more about career opportunities and generous benefits the Air National Guard has to offer.   • Student flu shot clinic is set for Oct. 28 during school hours.  Due date for permission forms is TODAY!!
  • Any FFA member wanting to participate in the Jackrabbit Invitational Leadership Events in Brookings on Nov. 6, needs to sign up in the agriculture classroom by TODAY.
  • The FFA fruit sale is at the mid-point on Friday, Oct. 24, so the seller with the highest total TODAY will receive $40.
  • OPPORTUNITY for Juniors and Seniors—the EmPOWER Youth Leadership Program—for more information please stop in the office.
  • The time has come to register for spring dual credit courses! Technical Institutes courses open on November 1st.  BOR (4-year college) courses open November 17th.  If you would like more information on Dual Credit courses and this opportunity to earn college / technical school credit at a greatly reduced price, please see Mrs. Kludt ASAP.
  • JUNIORS!!! We need people to sign up for concessions for the three playoff games in the next two weeks.  If we don’t get enough juniors to sign up by tomorrow then it will be given to another group and the money will be lost for prom.  Please see Mr. Brisbois or Wendy to sign up.
  • Good Luck to the Competitive Cheer team as they travel to Watertown today for the State Competition. Dells peforms @ 6:27pm.
  • Good Luck to Cross Country runners Zane Schumaker, Shaylee Hoff and Aspen Hansen as they participate in the State Cross meet on Saturday in Huron @ Broadland Creek Golf Course.  Meet starts at 10am.

  • Good Luck to the Oral Interp students as they travel to Sioux Falls Washington HS today for a meet.  Dismiss students at 1:45 for a 2pm bus time.

  • ***Senior football parents will be serving a meal to all football players, coaches, statisticians, and cheerleaders on Monday, October 27 at approximately 5:45/6:00pm (after practice) in the middle school commons.  Go Quarriers!!
  • Each year, Red Ribbon Week (Oct 27-Oct 31) is held to commemorate the death of Kiki Camarena, a United States DEA Agent who was tortured and killed in Mexico while working in the fight against drugs. Now students, teachers, and families across America participate in this annual awareness campaign.  We will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week with students at the elementary school, the middle school, and St. Mary’s.
    Next week’s activities will include dress-up days.
    ·         Monday – “Sock It To Drugs” – Wear crazy socks!
    ·         Tuesday – “Team Up Against Drugs” – Wear Quarrier clothes!
    ·         Wednesday – “Drugs Turn You Inside Out” – Wear your clothes inside out!
    ·         Thursday – “Be All You Can Be” – Wear camo!
    ·         Friday – “Color My World Drug Free” – Wear red!
  • In addition to Red Ribbon Week activities, students can take part in a contest to try to win an iPad for themselves and $1000 for their school.  Students and families decorate their home’s front door, mailbox or fence with a double-looped red ribbon and the theme, “Love Yourself. Be Drug Free.”  Take a picture with the decoration and upload it to the following site: RedRibbon.org/contest from Oct. 1-Nov. 4!  You must be 18 years or older to upload the photo.  Ask friends and family to vote for your photo beginning Nov. 5.  Eleven winners will be announced December 5th!
