  • National Honor Society meeting on Tuesday over lunch in the Spanish Room.
  • There will be a DWU golf clinic for any girls interested in golf this spring on March 18th and 19th in Mitchell. Dates are on the flyer which can be found in the HS and MS office. If you have questions please email or text Mr. Tjaden.
  • The Library will be closed in the mornings but will open at noon all week this week.
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors – An admission representative from Black Hills State University will be here on Friday, March 3 at 9:15 in Mrs. Ruesink’s office.
  • Quiz Bowl will meet Tuesday (2/28) during lunch.
  • The FFA will be making mini donuts on Monday, Feb. 27 before school to purchase.  The cost will be 10 donuts for $3 and the money raised will be matched by the chapter and donated to Feeding South Dakota.
  • Senator Mike Rounds would like to invite all interested High School students and their families to attend the Senator’s Annual Service Academy Days. These events will help students and their parents familiarize themselves with the application and nomination process to any of the nation’s five service academies.   • The 5th Annual Relay for Life Run will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the DR City Park. There will be a 10K Run, 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk and a Kid’s Relay Race (ages 6-12).  If you are interested in participating please pick up a flier in the office.( HS Track Athletes will NOT be eligible to participate) If you are interested in volunteering to help that day please see LuAnn in the District office.
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors interested in Health Careers……USD is hosting the 2017 Healthcare Careers Summer Camp from Sunday, June 18th – June 23rd.   This camp only has openings for 40 students (cost of camp is $100). Students attending the camp with interact with students, faculty and professionals in various health care fields, discover courses to help prepare for future health careers, tour regional health care facilities and well as experience college life by staying on campus at University of South Dakota.  Please see Mrs. Ruesink for more information.
  • Are you interested in law enforcement? The South Dakota highway patrol is offering the youth trooper academy June 26th –June 30th in Pierre. This is open to Juniors and Seniors. All expenses are paid. See Mrs. Ruesink for details and application. Space is limited. You are encouraged to apply early. Applications are due March 26th.
  • On Thursday, March 30th at the Dell Rapids High School the Young Hearts Cardiac Screening will take place. This is for ages 12 to 34 and includes a limited echocardiogram, 12 lead EKG, health history, blood pressure check and a review by a local Board Certified Cardiologist. The cost is $89. Scholarships may be available as well as a sibling discount. If you are interested, there are packets in the office. Please return the paperwork and set up an appointment time with LuAnn in the district office.
  • On March 29th Southeast Tech will be hosting an IT Camp. This will be a FREE Write the Code, Solve the Problem Camp. If you are interested please stop by the office.
