  • If you, or any students have any donations for Christmas For Our Kids, please bring them down to the office right away.  We are hoping to deliver all donations to the elementary school this morning.
  • A HUGE thank you to the staff and students that participated in the Blood Drive yesterday. We had 31 lifesaving donations given – helping 93 patients and their families!!!
  • “Elf For A Day”
    Wont it be fun to see one of the teachers dressed up for a day? Starting Monday students and staff can purchase stickers (votes) for the teacher of their choice. Stickers will be sold in the commons before school (1 for .50 or 3 for 1.00). Winning staff members will be determined at the end of the day on December 16th.
  • Good Luck to the boys basketball teams as they host West Central tonight starting at 5pm!!
  • Attention to all students: this is a reminder that you are not allowed to park in the staff parking lot on the west side of the building.
  • Attention to all staff: Now that the construction has subsided and if you plan on parking in the staff parking lot, please be sure you have a staff parking pass visible in your vehicle. If you need one, please see Eve.
  • FCCLA will meet on Monday night at 6 pm in the FACS room.  Members please put up an information sheet from Ms. Rieck by the end of the day.  It will have more details concerning the meeting.
  • After the home basketball game, The High School 5th Quarter is providing food and fun! Friday, December 9th from 9:30-11:00 PM at the middle school gym. This is sponsored by local churches.
  • The FFA Chapter will be holding a meeting on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 pm in the ag classroom.

Thursday, December 8th

  • Yesterday the Region V FCCLA meeting was held in Madison.  Congratulations to the following members who received a Gold rating on their Illustrated Talk:  Janae Hahn, Skyler Bakker, Cariss Montgomery, Desirae Horton, Alexyss La Deaux and Riley Rinehart and to Veronica Vanderloo who received a Silver rating! Beth Bruggeman served as Treasurer of the region for the past year. Alexyss La Deaux ran for Jr. High Representative and was installed in that office position for the coming year during the installation ceremony.  Thanks to other members who attended and participated in either the middle school or high school Knowledge Bowl competition or served as either a door or time keeper for the events.  Job well done!

  • The National Honor Society is hosting the Blood Drive Today, December 8th at the high school. We have 40 time slots allocated to students and staff to donate. Times are scheduled every 10 minutes from 8:30-11:00 and 12:30-3:00. The entire donation process from registration to refreshments afterwards takes approximately 30-35 minutes.

  • Congratulations to Cheyenne Adams for placing 8th in the State FFA Ag Broadcasting event.
  • The FFA Chapter will be holding a meeting on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 pm in the ag classroom.
  • Just a friendly reminder we have wrestling pictures Friday after school.
  • The cast for the one act play is posted by the end of the day outside of the old high school office and outside Mrs. Mitchell’s room.  If you are a cast member, please pick up scripts and schedules in Mrs. Mitchell’s room this afternoon.  First read through is tomorrow morning in Mrs. Mitchell’s room.  Attendance policy begins tomorrow morning.
  • The National Honor Society is hosting the Blood Drive on Thursday, December 8th at the high school. We have 40 time slots allocated to students and staff to donate. Times are scheduled every 10 minutes from 8:30-11:00 and 12:30-3:00. The entire donation process from registration to refreshments afterwards takes approximately 30-35 minutes.
  • Every day, approximately 110 units of donated blood are needed for patients in our region’s 32 hospitals. Finding donors to meet this demand is a daily challenge – we are lucky at Dell Rapids School to have the opportunity to save lives by being blood donors.  On average, each donation will help at least three different seriously ill patents. The blood you donate will be typed, tested for infectious diseases, and then processed into different components (red cells, platelets, and plasma) with each patient getting just the needed component. You will receive a donor card in the mail with the date of your donation and your blood type.
    **Students – please see Mrs. Ruesink if you are interested in scheduling a time to donate or if you have any questions. Students 16 years old (with parent consent) or older can donate.
