Friday, April 28th

  • Girls Soccer!  Dells has recently been granted approval to join with Garretson for girls high school soccer next Fall.  If you are going to be in grades 9-12 next year and are interested in playing soccer next Fall, please sign up in the MS or HS office and you will be contacted and have an informational meeting before the end of the school year. If you have any questions, see Mr Dvorak.
  • There will be an FCCLA meeting at 8 on Tuesday morning in the FACS room.
  • Attention Boys Basketball players Grades 9-11:  There will be a meeting in Coach Fersdahl’s room at 8:00am for all players planning on playing basketball next year.
  • There will be a NHS meeting (current seniors) on Thursday over lunch in the Spanish Room.
  • ALL PROM FORMS NEED TO BE TURNED IN ON FRIDAY BEFORE NOON!
  • Stop by the office or visit the school website to print out an application for a $50 camp scholarship offered by the Dell Rapids Athletic Boosters.  It is for all student athletes entering the 9th-12th grade in the upcoming fall school year.  It can be used towards the summer acceleration program as well as any camp you attend to better yourself in a school sanctioned sport.  Applications must be filled out and turned in by the end of the school year.
  • For the Senior parents who did not receive a Dell Rapids Senior Plaque Form with your Booster Club letter, you can pick one up in the High School office.
  • St. Mary’s Summer Challenge Registration is open until May 12th. Registration packets can be downloaded from the St. Mary’s website.  Camps are open for anyone in Dell Rapids and the surrounding areas.
  • Mrs. Reyes, the HS Spanish teacher, is putting on 3 different skill-based softball camps for girls in 2nd-12th grade from May 30th to June 1st.  Camps are divided up in various age groups and are run through the St. Mary Summer Challenge Program. Registration for these camps can be found in the MS/HS offices.
  • Southeast Tech is hosting a “Get Out and Do It Green Careers Camp” on May 12th from 9:00-1:00.  This program focuses on Horticulture Technology, Landscape Design Technology and Sports Turf Management. Please see Mrs. Ruesink if you are interested in attending.
  • The Dell Rapids FFA Chapter will be selling a meal for each day during the classroom instruction of drivers education. To help ensure we have enough food please complete this form and return to the Middle School office with payment by May 12th. All meals will cost $6 and include a bag of chips and a drink. Additional entrée can be purchased for $1.
  • JOBS:
    • Dells Theatre is currently taking applications and will be hiring mid to end of May.  Should be close to turning 16 or older.  Would work one to two possibly three shifts a week.  Need to be available to work evenings, weekends and holiday’s year round.  Apply in person any evening (except Thursday’s) after 7:15.  We are looking for energetic , honest and trustworthy individuals with positive attitudes.
    • The city of Sioux Falls is hiring for summer jobs, see postings on bulletin boards throughout the school.
    • L G Everist is looking for some summer help. See posted flyer for more information.
    • Yogi Bears Jellystone Park of Sioux Falls is now accepting job applications.
    • Summer Umpire position. Sign-up in the high school office.
    • Interested in a future in HEALTHCARE or have a passion taking care of people?  If so, be sure to check out the opportunities at Dells Nursing and Rehab Center at 605-428-5478 or stop in to pick up an application.  Opportunities available in Nursing, Laundry, Housekeeping, and Dietary!

ALSO: if you plan on playing Knockerball, you will need to print a permission slip off of the website and have a parents signature. Please turn this permission form into Eve. If your date is either a graduate or attends a different school, please also fill out the appropriate form found in the office.

  • Congratulations to Kenyon Shellum on his 7th place finish, Kyle Steineke on his 20th place finish and Justin Huss on his 26th place finish in the State FFA Ag Mechanics event that had 182 individuals participating.  The Ag Mechanics team finished 4th out of 53 teams.  Cheyenne Adams finished 27th in the Horse Evaluation event out of 158 individuals.

  • SDSU Extension and the SDSU Wellness Center are partnering together to provide a unique leadership opportunity for students age 13-17. We will accept ~50 kids from across the state who want to come and learn about health and wellness, and then turn around and become health advocates and leaders in their communities. It is a unique training to dive into Health and Wellness world and come back to their community as a teen ambassador.
