Fall Community Blood Drive Scheduled October 8

CommunityBloodBankA community blood drive is scheduled for Thursday, October 8 from 7:00 am to 11:00 am and 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm at Avera Dells Area Health Center. This blood drive will benefit the local area blood supply.

In 30 – 35 minutes you can provide an opportunity for giving life to a local patient. With just one donation of blood a donor can save up to three patients’ lives. Residents are encouraged to donate blood to help maintain the local blood supplies at adequate levels. A healthy blood supply is needed to treat patients in situation related to surgery, cancer treatment, trauma, and accidents.

Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 pounds and be in good general health the day of the blood drive. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating. Please bring an ID. For more information or to schedule an appointment call Avera Dells Area Health Center at 428-5431. Walk-ins are always welcome.

Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood and blood products to Avera Dells Area Health Center and 33 other local area hospitals.

Community Blood Bank is not affiliated with other blood bank organizations and takes pride in being a self-sufficient organization, thanks to the generosity of our local blood donors.
