The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first four minutes of the game and never looked back as they cruised to a 66-25 win over the Centerville Tornadoes on Tuesday, February 6th at Dell Rapids St Mary High School.
St Mary continued the high-energy defense and offense as they lead 23-9 after the first quarter. The lead grew to 43-15 by halftime for the Cardinals. The St Mary defense then held the Tornadoes to just six points in the third quarter and grew their lead to 60-21. The Cardinals then outscored Centerville 6-4 in the final quarter.
Connor Libis led the team in scoring with 22 points and also pulled down nine rebounds. Max Herber had nine points and eight rebounds. Weston Geraets added nine points and six rebounds. Luke Brown also finished with nine points. Josh Eining had six points, while Ethan Geraets had four points.
The Cardinals (9-7) continue their home stand when the host the Elkton-Lake Benton Elks on Thursday, February 8th.
