The Colman-Egan Hawks scored 24 points in the first quarter and then scored 26 more points in the second quarter on their way to a 40-0 win over the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals on Friday, September 1st, at Rickeman Field. It was the first home game of the season for St Mary.
Luke Brown led the Cardinals’ ground attack with 11 carries for 76 yards. Weston Geraets paced the defense with 4.5 tackles and a fumble recovery. Connor Libis added four tackles for St Mary.
Head coach Ross Flemmer said, “Colman-Egan is a very good football team, and they got after it in every phase of the game. We began to match some of their intensity after the first couple series, and I thought our kids played hard.”
The Cardinals (1-2) will have a bye week this week, but they will be back in action for the Homecoming game on Friday, September 15th, when they host De Smet. The game can be seen on Big Sioux Media.
