The Estelline Redmen hung on to defeat the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinals in girls basketball action on Thursday, December 11th, in Estelline.\u00a0 Estelline jumped out to a 13-5 lead after the first quarter.\u00a0 They were able to extend the lead to 29-13 at halftime.<\/p>\n
The Cardinals were able to cut the lead down to 37-23 by the end of the third quarter.\u00a0 Dell Rapids St Mary also outscored Estelline 15-11 in the final quarter, but it wasn’t enough as Estelline hung on for the 48-38 win.<\/p>\n
The Cardinals shot 29% (15-51) from the field in the game.\u00a0 They were 33% (2-6) from three-point area and shot 43% (6-14) from the free throw line.\u00a0 St Mary had a total of 39 team rebounds and 23 turnovers.<\/p>\n
Ally Mullaney led the Cardinals with 22 points and 15 rebounds.\u00a0 Lindsey Wolles added nine points, and Jackie Wolles tossed in four points.\u00a0 Estelline was led by Abbi Benning with 15 points.\u00a0 Leannah Tekrony had 12 points, and Makensie Saathoff had 11 points.<\/p>\n
