\"DRHSvsVermillion_VB_10-7-14_1\"<\/a>The Dell Rapids Quarrier volleyball team picked up a win over the Vermillion Tanagers by scores of\u00a0 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22 on Tuesday, October 7th, in Dell Rapids.<\/p>\n

Dell Rapids started a big slow in the first game.\u00a0 Vermillion was able to gain the lead and held a six-point lead late in the game at 16-22, but Dell Rapids went on a 6-0 to tie the game at 22-22.\u00a0 After Vermillion scored the next point, the Quarriers scored the final three points for the win.\u00a0 Both teams traded points back and forth for much of the second game, but Dell Rapids was able to break away late in the game to earn a win in the second game.\u00a0 Vermillion was able to force a fourth game by coming from behind in game three.\u00a0 However, Dell Rapids was able to hold off another Vermillion rally to earn the match win.<\/p>\n

Sarah Haak finished the night with 34 set assists, 13 service points, and 15 digs.\u00a0 Tiffany Finkral had 12 kills.\u00a0 Mikaela Stofferahn ended with 11 kills, while Brittany Kludt finished with eight.\u00a0 Shelby Wrage had 20 digs and also had 11 service points.<\/p>\n

The Quarriers are now 9-9 on the season.\u00a0 Dell Rapids will travel to White to take on the Deubrook Area Dolphins on Tuesday, October 14th, in their next match.<\/p>\n

JV Result:<\/strong><\/span><\/span>
\nThe JV dropped their match 2-0.\u00a0 Set scores were 22-25 and 17-25.\u00a0 Megan Miles and Arial Hoffman had four kills each.\u00a0 Trinity Gross and Sami Reider served eight and six points respectively.\u00a0\u00a0 Chloe Solberg added nine set assists.<\/p>\n
