In a make-up game from earlier in the season, the Garretson Blue Dragons defeated the Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal boys basketball team 52-34 on Monday, January 12th, in Dell Rapids.
Garretson’s defense held the Cardinals to just six points in the entire first half. The Blue Dragons led 16-1 after the first quarter. They took a 24-point lead into halftime at 30-6. The St Mary offense found some rhythm in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to make a come back against Garretson. St Mary out-scored Garretson 11-10 in the third quarter to trail 40-17. The Cardinals then put up 17 points in the fourth quarter, holding Garretson to just 12.
The Cardinals record falls to 0-8 on the year.
