Cardinal Girls Finish Sixth at DVC Tournament

The Dell Rapids St Mary Cardinal girls basketball team finished sixth at the Dakota Valley Conference tournament. St Mary lost to the Arlington Cardinals on Saturday, January 24th, by a score of 51-45. The two teams were tied at 12-12 at the end of the first quarter. Arlington was able to take a nine-point lead into halftime at 32-23. St Mary cut the lead to five at the end of the third quarter at 35-30, but was unable to complete the comeback.

Lindsey Wolles led the way for St Mary with 13 points and three steals. Kennedi Mullaney finished with five points and five assists. Lexi Klein pulled down six rebounds, and Jackie Wolles had five rebounds. St Mary finished the game with 28 total team rebounds an turned the ball over 19 times.

St Mary now falls to 2-10 on the year. St Mary will travel to Baltic to take on the Bulldogs on Monday, January 26th.
